Unlike any other cryptocurrency in existence today, SM@RTZ™ is a cryptocurrency designed specifically to address and solve humanity and world's biggest problems. There is no bigger problem humanity faces, than the Multi-Trillion-Dollar Problem of financing the adoption of sustainability approaches and practices at global scale, from the government level right down to the citizen level, in order to effectively and expediently reverse the very negative impacts, which UN-Sustainable Development practices have had on planet earth over the past fifty plus years.

We are at a stage in human development where we now need to switch from a narrow development focus on "Digital Transformation", to a more critical focus which includes digital transformation but which we at SM@RT call, SUSTAINABILITY TRANSFORMATION. The world needs to finance and accelerate a rapid and sustained transition to sustainable materials, sustainable practices and processes, sustainable products and services, while greatly accelerating the number of major sustainable development projects undertaken annually, particularly in developing countries. The major obstacle to all of the above, is the timely access to the Trillions of dollars in sustainable development funding, with the UN declaring a large funding gap of US$2.5Trillion per year, in terms of achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals by the year 2030 (The 2030 Agenda).

While achieving the SDGs by 2030 represents a nice ambitious target that was expected to galvanize and mobilize people, organizations and governments around the world to act to make it happen, the plan lacks what is a fundamental requirement to motivate humans to act en masse and with passionate purpose. That missing element is "Meaningful, Realistic, Economic Empowerment Opportunity". Unfortunately, without this key element, the level of global stakeholder engagement necessary to achieve the goals simply will not be achieved. While most people care about "saving the planet", they care much more about achieving and maintaining personal/family economic security. While businesses do want to be seen as having some level of corporate social responsibility, they care more about pleasing their shareholders with profit. While most investors will tell you that it's important to protect the planet, even those with a strict focus on what some call "impact investing", care deeply about meaningfully growing their invested capital (ROI).

To mobilize major investment capital and human capital toward major sustainability efforts, therefore, it is imperative that a Strategic Economic Empowerment Framework be designed and engineered to reward all stakeholders economically for their positive contributions to the global sustainability mission.
